  The catalog
  
   pg_description
  
  stores optional descriptions
   (comments) for each database object.  Descriptions can be manipulated
   with the
  
   
    COMMENT
   
  
  command and viewed with
  
   psql

  commands.
   Descriptions of many built-in system objects are provided in the initial
   contents of
  
   pg_description
